Cranberry Ginger Spritz

A bright pink mocktail featuring cranberries, fresh orange, and ginger beer.

Nothing quite gets me in the holiday mood like a festive beverage. Cranberry, ginger, and citrus are a perfect flavor combination to complete any celebratory feast. This Cranberry Ginger Spritz can be made as either a mocktail, or a cocktail so everyone at the dinner table can enjoy it.

Cranberry juice, ginger beer, navel oranges, and sugar are the four simple ingredients you need to make this delightful drink. I love the spicy kick of ginger beer, but it can be quite a strong flavor. Ginger ale is also a great substitution if looking for a more mild taste, especially if making this mocktail for your kiddos.

How to make this recipe.

The first step to making this Spritz is making the orange sugar rim. Pour sugar into a shallow dish and stir in the zest of one orange. Next, take an orange wedge, slice it open, and run it around the entire rim of your glass to moisten the edge. Dip the glass into the orange sugar to coat, until there is a nice sugary layer on the top of you glass. Next, add the orange wedge into the glass and fill with ice and 2 oz. of cranberry juice. Top with ginger beer and enjoy!

Boozy additions.

This drink is a wonderful mocktail, but it also makes for a great cocktail! If you want some liquor to this recipe, just add a shot after the cranberry juice and then top the rest of the way with ginger beer. Some of my favorite boozy additions to this recipe are:

  • Alcoholic ginger beer
  • Bourbon
  • Rum
  • Vodka

What kind of sugar do you recommend? I’m listening this with some extra crunchy turbinado cane sugar!

Turbinado cane sugar is what I use, I just love that crunchiness! That said, regular sugar should work well to rim the glass too!
