If you’ve never tried roasted garlic, you are seriously missing out. It’s shocking how garlic transforms once roasted, it goes from pungent and spicy, to buttery and almost sweet. And while I love garlic in every form, roasted cloves are truly the star of my culinary dreams.
Roasting garlic is so easy, and once you put them in the oven your house is filled with the most magical smell. The roasted cloves are delicious on their own, spread on toast, or as a base to elevate pasta sauce, hummus, pizza, mashed potatoes, whatever/everything.
Seriously though, stop what you’re doing and go roast some garlic already!
Oven Roasted Garlic
A delicious way to elevate home cooking.
Ingredients
- 1 head of garlic
- 1 tsp olive oil
Instructions
Preheat oven to 400°F.
Peel as much of the papery outer layer of the garlic as you can. Avoid tearing into the tougher skins on the individual cloves.
Slice head of garlic horizontally about 1/4 inch from the top to expose each clove.
Place in garlic in a baking pan and drizzle 1 tsp olive oil over the exposed cloves. Cover pan with aluminum foil and place in oven.
Bake for 40-45 minutes and enjoy!
Notes
This recipe is for 1 head of garlic but I would encourage you to double or quadruple the recipe. Thank me later.
